ity.im review

What is ity.im?
ity.im is kind of adf.ly with a little twist. You got paid when you shorten your URL.

What’s the difference between ity.im and adf.ly?
There are some pros regarding ity.im compared to other paid-URL-shorter:

  • there is other ways other than shorting your URL to collect money: placing banner ads and pop-up ads (and referral)
  • eCPM rate is way too high compared to adf.ly — even for Asian-based country. I can make $24 per day using ity.im compared to $16 a day using adf.ly.
  • instant payment, no need to wait until end of the month until you got paid. Once you requested payment, the system will process your request and send you payment within days. They promised instant payment after request! My first payment came after 2 days of requested time.

This is my first payment from ity.im:

Do you still use it?
NO! Why? Because ity.im only paid me on my first request, my second and third request just being ignored by them. Here’s my request screen shot:

As you can see, my second request had been longed for more than 2 weeks (remember that they promised instant payment) and still no money coming to my paypal. That’s enough reason for me to lift their ads code from my site and move on.

Final words: Stay away from ity.im, it’s highly likely a scam!

Pro tips using YtConv.net

YTConv.net is a website that provide free service to convert your Youtube video into an mp3, mp4, flv, 3gp and avi. The converted video then can be downloaded into your PC or mobile phone.

Tips #1 : Access YTconv.net faster simply by changing “youtube.com” into “ytconv.net” in your video URL.
Example:
you want to convert this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVw7eJ0vGfM into an mp3, you just need to change word “youtube.com” from the URL into “ytconv.net”, so, your new URL would be: http://www.ytconv.net/watch?v=YVw7eJ0vGfM
Open this new URL into your browser, see what happened 😀

Tips #2: this is complementary for tips #1, suppose you want to convert to other format other than mp3, you need to add “&hq=” into your new URL. This is the full list of “&hq=” value:
&hq=0 –> convert into mp3 (192kbps)
&hq=1 –> convert into mp3 (256kbps)
&hq=2 –> convert into flv
&hq=3 –> convert into 3gp
&hq=4 –> convert into mp4
&hq=5 –> convert into avi

Example:
you want to convert this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVw7eJ0vGfM into an mp4, you just need to change word “youtube.com” from the URL into “ytconv.net” and add “&hq=4” into the URL, so, your new URL would be: http://www.ytconv.net/watch?v=YVw7eJ0vGfM&hq=4
Open this new URL into your browser, see what happened 😀

Tips #3: bypass Adf.ly ads. If you, for some reason (such as: the countdown counter did not work), do not want to see adf.ly ads when you click on “DOWNLOAD” button, then do not click the “DOWNLOAD” button. Instead, wait for 60 seconds and then the download will start automatically without needing to see any adf.ly ads.

Tips #4: always download the file from ytconv.net using download accelerator. It is compatible for most common download accelerator. If you don’t want to install any, you can always use DownThemAll add-on for Firefox.

That’s it for now.. I’m tired…

Sonobi.com review #1

What is Sonobi.com?

In brief: Sonobi.com is one of quite new CPC and CPM ads networks out there. So, you got revenue when ads shown (CPM) or clicked by users (CPC). Their payment term is NET60 (this is my first time dealing with ads network that has this long payment terms)

I joined them last week of November 2011 and got my first payment this January 2012. So, this answered the most common questions:

Do Sonobi.com pay? Yes, they do. Is the payment on time? Yes, it is.

Auditing revenue?

This one I noticed the most. To my surprise, it seems they do some revenue auditing before finalizing our earning. Just like Adsense do, so, I’m not too surprised with this kind of scheme. They also promptly sending us email about our finalized earning. You may noticed that Sonobi.com’s eCPM is really good for a new ads network.

November payment sent to my Paypal:

My first sonobi payment coming to my Paypal account

There’s a $8.43 gap between reporting and payment. I think the “invalid” revenue is quite so-so (my biggest revenue “cut” is from Adsense, where I found about $50 not accounted for)

Some other note: their reporting is updated once a day. Sometimes (rarely) 2 days. Don’t be surprised if your revenue stats isn’t updated yet.

So, this is my first review about Sonobi.com. I’ll surely review Sonobi.com again on my second payment, because this second payment is quite big.

Final words: definitely worth to try if you have sites with insane traffic (>10K pageview per day).

They also had referral program. Publisher (us) can promote Pinbalpublishernetwork’s applications via banner, text link, interstitial or pop-over.

Do they pay? Pinballpublishernetwork.com payment proof?
Yes, they absolutely pay. Payment term: NET30 (just like Adsense). I already paid twice via Paypal (forgot to say: you can either paid via Paypal or check/wire). Here’s my paypal screenshot:

I would say that: PinbalPublisherNetwork.com is suitable if your site content are one of these: download-related, free-online game and software-related tutorial (including PC desktop modification/tips/trick)

Do you still use it?
No. Why? See my report from PinballPublisherNetwork.com dashboard:

My payment schedule report

Look closely and compare it to my paypal payment proof. First payment should be sent at November 11th but they send me payment at November 23rd; I said: Okay, a little 12 days late is rather fine.
Now look at the second payment schedule and compare it to my second paypal payment proof. I should been paid at Nov 29th but they sent the payment at January 13th 2012. That’s almost 2 months late. In the middle of the payment delay, my account manager had been replaced, I had to re-send my W8-BEN form and do some back-and-fort email communications with my account manager more than 10 times. Crazy! I think maybe they were a runner at that time.
So, that’s my simple reason for removing their ads code from my site. If they pay on-time, I would love to continue to use them.

Final words: you should try them!

Achieving what W3 Total Cache does for your non-WordPress site

Before implementing this tips, your server/web host had to use Apache and activated all modules needed as I already posted.
W3 Total Cached had a good .htacess settings that will made your site/blog score higher in Google Page Speed and YSlow. I noticed that these .htaccess settings is quite generic and can be implemented in non-blog, non-Wordpress site.
Here’s the .htaccess settings that you need to copy and paste to your site’s .htaccess:

What it does?

  • enabling gzip compression, your site’s HTML codes will be compressed on-the-fly before served to users/visitors
  • minifying CSS, JS and HTML files from your site
  • add expiry header to your files based on file types
  • set ETag value
  • Specify a Vary: Accept-Encoding header

I’ve implemented this on mp32u.net, the result is as expected.
