Well, actually it’s not only on Google Maps but also Google Earth fail to draw the border correctly.
Google Maps incorrectly draw at Kalimantan’s province border. I realized it after my client (GIS project using Google Maps) complaint to me that the map has problem in detecting user’s resident in Kalimantan.
This is the correct version of Kalimantan’s province border (Kalimantan based on Wikipedia and ‘ATLAS’ book in hand):
This is the Google Maps (and Google Earth) version:
As you can see, the border for Kalimantan Barat (West Borneo), Kalimantan Tengah (Central Borneo) and Kalimantan Selatan (South Borneo) is messed up. Worst thing: Kalimantan Selatan (South Borneo) even doesn’t exist there!
This time, Bing Maps by Microsoft win the battle. Shame on you Google Maps, where the heck did you take your Kalimantan/Borneo’s data from?
Now, where should we report this kind of mistake?
Notes: AFAIK, There’s never any province boundaries dispute in Kalimantan
